ISCC Press Release on Reports of the EBB on Polish low-priced Biodiesel Exports

On 7 March 2016 ISCC published a press release on reports of the European Biodiesel Board (EBB). These reports refer to Polish low-priced biodiesel exports that threaten the level playing field on the EU market. According to the report the low prices may be possible because some Polish operators would sell quantities of biodiesel that were already counted towards the Polish national biofuels quota to other EU Member States as sustainable according to the RED.

ISCC is concerned about these allegations, and is ready to take appropriate actions to verify the allegations and if ISCC certified operations are involved, as well as to implement relevant measures if necessary. To start investigations concrete information from the EBB, market operators and relevant authorities on the allegations will be vital. ISCC will closely cooperate with Member State authorities and other certification systems active in the Polish market.
