Objectives
The regulatory framework for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions application and calculation is continuously evolving. Recent developments, such as the European Commission’s Implementing Regulation 2022/996 and the transition to the Renewable Energy Directive III (RED III), have introduced significant updates to GHG calculation and verification requirements. These changes necessitated adjustments to the ISCC requirements to ensure continued compliance and certification integrity.
These updates are essential for ensuring compliance with mandatory GHG calculation requirements in the EU market, where system users must adhere to the latest standards. Beyond compliance, achieving better GHG performance can also enhance competitiveness, in mandatory and voluntary markets. Accurate GHG calculation, verification, and certification are essential, not only for biofuels but also for sectors like food and biochemicals, where companies are increasingly leveraging GHG savings along the supply chain – from agricultural production to final products.
The ISCC EU Greenhouse Gas Training is an advanced course that provides participants with:
- Comprehensive insights into the latest RED III and Implementing Regulation 2022/996 requirements.
- Practical methodologies for GHG calculations and verifications along the supply chain.
- Case studies illustrating the application of updated methodologies and options.
- Opportunities to discuss specific challenges and scenarios with ISCC experts.
The training is tailored to the ISCC EU market (excluding RFNBOs). While the methodology is also of relevance to ISCC PLUS markets, this training does not cover the unique products or specific market requirements of ISCC PLUS.
