Licensing Process
1. Review Your Eligibility
Start your licensing process by reviewing our decision tree to confirm whether your company is eligible for a licence or requires certification.
Please note that the decision tree serves as guidance only. In unclear cases, we always reserve the right not to issue a licence and to require certification to ensure traceability along the supply chain.
If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact us with a brief overview of your supply chain, including materials received, supplier certification, processing methods, end customers, and their product use.
2. Fill Out the Registration Form
Start your application process in our ISCC BrandPortal by filling out the registration form. After submission, you’ll receive further instructions via email.
3. Fill Out the Licence Application
Once registered, you’ll receive a link to access the licence application form. Use this link to submit an application for the brand(s) you wish to include under the licence. We will review your submission and determine whether a licence can be granted or further information is needed.
4. Submit Your Licence Details
5. Sign Licence Agreements
After your licence details have been finalised, we will provide the licence agreements for signature. Once the documents are signed and the effective date has passed, your company becomes an official ISCC licensee.
6. Get Full Access to the ISCC BrandPortal
With the signed agreements, you’ll gain full access to the BrandPortal, where you can easily manage and monitor your licence data.
7. Get Published in the Licence Database
Finally, your finished goods will be published in our licence database once they have been launched to the market.
8. Apply for ISCC Logos and Claims
Thoroughly read the ISCC Document 208 ‘Logos and Claims’ below and apply for the use of the ISCC logos and claims by filling out our logo application form. Upon prior approval, you will be authorised to use ISCC logos and claims.
ISCC 208 Logos and Claims (v2.2, 16 July 2025), valid from 16 July 2025
The compliance transition period for this document lasts 24 months, ending on 15 July 2027. Companies are advised to start preparing new artwork and updating their communication materials (both on- and off-product) as early as possible, following the new 208 (v2.2). Any new or revised artwork featuring the ISCC on-product logo or claim must be approved by ISCC. Similarly, off-product communications by licensees also need ISCC approval. From 16 July 2027, only the ISCC 208 (v2.2) version will be valid , meaning that all ongoing off-product communication and all newly printed marketing materials (both on- and off-product) must adhere to ISCC 208 (v2.2).
ISCC 208 Logos and Claims (v1.3, 26 April 2022), valid till 15 July 2027
This document provides clear guidance on the use and development of ISCC logos and claims, ensuring consistency, credibility, and transparency. It helps organisations communicate their sourcing of alternative materials effectively while protecting the integrity of ISCC and supporting the shift toward a circular economy.
