Vynova has started the commercialisation of ISCC PLUS certified renewable caustic soda which is manufactured using renewable energy sources. According to Vynova, it has a lower carbon footprint than conventionally produced caustic soda, which enables customers to manufacture more sustainable products. Using electricity generated from wind, solar, aerothermal, geothermal or water for its membrane electrolysis process, Vynova is the first company to achieve an ISCC certification for the input material “renewable energy”.

The renewable caustic soda is certified according to the mass balance approach. “This product launch is another important step in improving the sustainability performance of our products in the chlor-alkali chain.” says Peter Oosterveer, Vynova Vice President Caustic Soda Business.
