Our company’s two-day team event in Lindlar, in the picturesque Oberbergischer Kreis region, was nothing short of an unforgettable experience. Not only ISCC but also its four sister companies — Meo Carbon Solutions, 4C, GRAS, and ClimatePal — joined forces and embarked on the first day on a mission that would not only strengthen our team bonds but also contribute to the environment: The Afforestation Day
Forests are the heartbeats of our planet, providing vital ecosystem services to both nature and humanity. To ensure the long-term provision of these services and address the challenges posed by climate change, forests must embrace the concept of resilience. The diversity of trees plays a pivotal role in promoting resilience, making a forest region more robust as its tree composition becomes richer and more diversified.
Under clear blue skies and in 30-degree temperatures, the enthusiastic team gathered at our designated piece of land for the afforestation project. Armed with shovels and unwavering determination, we set out to make a lasting impact. Guided by local experts, we dedicated our efforts to preparing the land for planting more than 3,800 trees representing 12 different tree species. This involved constructing a protective fence, delineating planting circles for the various tree species, and clearing away smaller trees and weeds. It was a day of hard work and groundwork, setting the stage for our reforestation project. By the end of the day, we had not only made a meaningful contribution to the environment but also strengthened our sense of unity and purpose.
After a day of challenging work, we deserved a night of celebration and relaxation. The evening was all about unwinding, bonding, and enjoying the beautiful setting of Gut Hungenbach, which offered a variety of grilled delights and vegetarian options to satisfy every palate. The night was filled with music, dancing, and genuine companionship, proving that our team knows how to work hard and play hard.
Day two was dedicated to introspection and alignment: Workshop Day
We recognise that the success of our company relies not only on what we do but on who we are and what we stand for. Through a series of engaging discussions, we collaboratively discussed our company’s core values, our mission and vision. This outcome now serves as guiding principles, shaping our culture, decision-making, and interactions with system users and colleagues alike. It was a powerful exercise reaffirming our commitment to excellence, teamwork, innovation, and sustainability.
In conclusion, our two-day team event in Lindlar was a perfect blend of purposeful work, celebration, and self-discovery. We not only contributed to the environment by afforesting our land but also strengthened our unity and defined our company’s values.
