March 19, 2020
Going through difficult times, our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). We greatly appreciate all those healthcare workers, communities and governments around the world working to contain the virus. We are all in this together and this is the time to remind ourselves that we need to take care of each other.
ISCC will continue monitoring the COVID-19 situation and make sure to respond to new developments as quickly as possible. Please know that we have taken precautionary measures to be able to work in case of a German-wide lock-down. Already today, the majority of the ISCC staff is working from home to help containing the virus. Until further notice, the best way to reach us will be through email: info(at)iscc-system.org.
As already announced in the last ISCC System Update, ISCC has decided that a re-certification shall be possible based on a remote audit if there is a justified and documented reason. With this exception, we are responding to the increased travel restrictions aiming to slow down the prevalence of virus infections. It will ensure that all ISCC system users can remain certified without a gap in their certification period. The temporary exception applies until further notice by ISCC.
Moreover, ISCC has planned several training courses and events in the near future. If it is not possible to conduct in-person training courses, we will offer the next ISCC GHG Training and ISCC EU and PLUS Basic Training as online-classes. We will proceed similarly with the next ISCC Technical Stakeholder Meetings “Circular and Bioeconomy” and “Waste, Residues and Advanced Low Carbon Fuels”. In case physical events will not be possible, we are looking forward to bringing you together in a new virtual format to learn and connect.
We recognise that these are unsettling times, but we want you to know that safety has the highest priority for ISCC, and we will always react in accordance to this deeply held value.
