12 February 2025
After a 12-month delay, the Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products, also known as EUDR, is officially coming into effect on 30 December 2025. Here’s why that’s important now: As a business, preparing early is key to ensuring your EU operations run smoothly in 2026 and beyond. One way to do that is to use our ISCC EUDR add-on. It’s a cost-effective addition to your ISCC EU or ISCC PLUS certification that can streamline the whole process with minimal extra input.
EUDR: The Story So Far
In case you missed it: the EUDR entered into force in June 2023. Its purpose is to mitigate the EU market’s impact on global deforestation and forest degradation to produce cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soya, and wood, as well as a variety of derived products listed in the Annexe to the Regulation (EU) 2023/1115. The deadline for compliance with the EUDR was originally planned for December 2024. But after talks with businesses and governments, it has been pushed back to 30 December 2025 for large and medium companies and 30 June 2026 for small businesses. As an operator or trader importing or exporting these materials in the EU, the primary responsibility for meeting these requirements will lie with you.
To sell or export your products under the EUDR:
- They must be deforestation-free
- They must comply with the laws of the country of production
- They must be backed by a due diligence statement confirming minimal risk of non-compliance.
Smooth Sailing to Compliance with the EUDR Add-On
We want to support your business on its journey to EUDR compliance. That’s why we developed a comprehensive solution that integrates seamlessly with your broader ISCC certification. For companies already certified under ISCC, the ISCC EUDR add-on is a valuable extension that enhances compliance efforts. It can be combined with ISCC EU or ISCC PLUS certifications and easily incorporated into your next audit. This streamlined approach offers a cost-effective and efficient way to align with EUDR requirements while maintaining sustainable and responsible supply chain practices. Therefore, ISCC System Users have an advantage over non-certified companies when meeting EUDR requirements. They can fulfil these efficiently during an audit by using the ISCC EUDR add-on, thus avoiding the time-consuming work that non-certified companies have to do.
How it Works
The ISCC EUDR add-on combines the ISCC EUDRx tool with an on-site audit to cover all aspects of the EUDR.
- As an ISCC certification holder or new applicant, you can include the ISCC EUDR add-on in the registration section of the ISCC HUB.
- From there, the (re)certification process will continue as normal with the annual onsite audit, now with ISCC EUDR add-on requirements included.
- Additionally, first gathering points (FGPs) must use the ISCC EUDRx tool to generate a report to assess their social and environmental risks.
- Then, if applicable, you forward your sustainability declaration and the ISCC EUDRx report to the next actor in the supply chain.

And that’s how you’ll be able to navigate the complexities of compliance and make the due diligence process smooth and straightforward with the ISCC EUDR add-on!
Act Now to Meet the Deadline
With businesses across the EU gearing up to revise and configure their supply chains this year in order to meet the new requirements, getting ahead of the curve can help put your company at the front of the queue before the December 2025 deadline. There’s no reason to keep waiting. The sooner you get started with EUDR compliance, the easier it’ll be to sell your products in the EU in 2026 and beyond.
