1st Technical Stakeholder Meeting
18 November 2021, Virtual Meeting
More than 150 participants joined the inception of the Technical Stakeholder Committee “Sustainable Aviation Fuels”. The discussed topics covered the latest updates in the dynamically evolving policy framework around SAF such as CORSIA, the ReFuel EU Aviation proposal and the dedicated sub mandate for power-to-liquid SAF, written into law by the German Government.
Additionally, insights on how to scale up the SAF supply while sticking to the recently announced net-zero by 2050 target by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) were given by certain market participants (airline and large SAF producer).
Also, ISCC shed light on the importance of sustainability certification to ensure the very much-needed SAF ramp-up follows stringent sustainability standards.
The Technical Stakeholder Committee will now start its work under the two newly elected Co-Chairs Karen O’Brien (Gevo Inc., US) and Robert Boyd (IATA, Switzerland).
