We herewith inform you about updates in the ISCC System. Please share this information with all relevant members of staff.

1. Updated Guidance Document for the Audit of Wastes and Residues from Palm Oil Mills

After the first public consultation phase, we have updated the guidance document for the certification of waste and residues from palm oil mills (version 2). We would like to thank all stakeholders who have actively engaged in the public consultation. Your valuable feedback was also discussed by the respective ISCC working group and incorporated into the updated version. The following amendments were made:

  • Additional residue: “Pressed palm fiber oil”
  • New requirement: Mandatory annual audits of all palm oil mills generating waste and resides
  • Improvements of language and audit guidance

The updated guidance document (version 2) will be published in the public consultation section of the ISCC website for another 30 days and can be downloaded here. ISCC would highly appreciate to receive further stakeholder feedback via the contact form on our website.

Please note that the guidance document and the processes described therein can be applied with immediate effect (on a voluntary basis). ISCC will announce from which date the guidance document must be applied on a mandatory basis, after the second public consultation is finished.

2. Updates on ISCC Documents

ISCC EU List of Materials

Table 1 “Raw material”

The following raw material was added:

  • Pressed palm fiber oil

Please note that the ISCC EU and PLUS material lists can be amended. In case a material should be certified which is not listed yet, please note that ISCC must be contacted prior to the issuance of the certificate via info@iscc-system.org.

The current version of the ISCC EU list of materials (as of 22 September 2021) is available here in the client section of the ISCC website (login required).
