Food Security Standard (FSS)

ISCC is a partner of the Food Security Standard (FSS) which provides a set of practical and measurable criteria and audit tools that can be integrated into existing sustainability standards like ISCC. By adopting the FSS, companies along the value chain can demonstrate that they are committed to the Human Right to adequate Food and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Forum for Sustainable Palm Oil (FONAP)

ISCC is a member of the Forum for Sustainable Palm Oil (FONAP). Striving to improve social, economic and environmental conditions in producing countries, members of FONAP commit to significantly increase the amount of certified palm oil, palm kernel oil and their derivatives in German, Austrian and Swiss markets.

Sustainability Assurance & Innovation Alliance (SUSTAIN)

ISCC is an associate member of SUSTAIN, a palm oil alliance that uses integrated collaborative blockchain technology to improve traceability and accelerate the implementation of No Deforestation, No Peat and No Exploitation (NDPE) policies. In addition, the initiative aims to work towards greater smallholder inclusion in sustainable palm oil supply chains.

Sustainable Cotton Challenge 2025

The non-profit organisation Textile Exchange, currently acting as the secretariat for the 2025 Sustainable Cotton Challenge, has recognised ISCC PLUS as one of the sustainable cotton initiatives. The challenge has been established in 2017 in order to encourage brands and retailers in the apparel and textile industry to commit to sourcing 100% of their cotton from the most sustainable sources by the year 2025.

Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA)

ISCC is a partner of the Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA). TFA is a multi-stakeholder partnership platform in which partners take voluntary actions, to reduce and ultimately halt the tropical deforestation associated with the sourcing of commodities such as palm oil, soy, beef, paper and pulp.

Being a partner of TFA helps ISCC to further raise awareness on deforestation and other related sustainability issues, and to promote certification as a well-established tool to implement deforestation-free supply chains.

UN Global Compact

Since March 2016, ISCC is a participant of the UN Global Compact, a non-binding UN pact of approximately 10,000 companies worldwide. The UN Global Compact aims to mobilise a global movement of sustainable companies and supports businesses by aligning their strategies and operations with ten principles on human rights, labour environment and anti-corruption.

The association “Food for Biodiversity” works to protect the biodiversity of the food sector. It is an initiative of companies, associations, and standards in the food sector. The association aims to integrate biodiversity criteria along the supply chain, educate buyers, raise awareness among consumers, and influence policy frameworks that support biodiversity.
