ISCC is committed to supporting the shift towards the circular economy and bioeconomy. The ISCC Technical Stakeholder Committee – Circular Economy and Bioeconomy provides a platform for stakeholders to engage in a constructive dialogue on the sustainability certification of recycled and bio-based materials.

10th Technical Stakeholder Meeting

The 10th ISCC Technical Stakeholder Meeting on Circular Economy and Bioeconomy has concluded and we are pleased to say it was another successful event! Hosted live and online by the ISCC Association, the meeting brought together about 300 participants from around the globe.

Attendees were welcomed by our Co-Chairs Esther Garcia (Mondelez International, UK) and Jason Pierce (Eastman, US) who kicked off a dynamic agenda beginning with the final segregation of ISCC PLUS, the implementation of the Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD) and the alignment with ISO standards presented by Dr Jan Henke and the European Commission.

Working Group Leads then shared progress on Mass Balance, Logos and Claims, and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) topics. Further, Delia Nedelcu (CGF Plastic Waste Coalition) presented updates on consumer-facing claims regulations while Jaideep Gokhale (AARC) highlighted additional regulatory developments in India.

Industry insights included sustainable supply chains in polyester (Mitsubishi), and the benefits of ISCC PLUS from brand owners Suntory and Mondelez, along with Shell addressing how certification can support the decrease of emissions.
